The Grant Proposal Writing and Project Bidding Training under Pillar VI: Professional Skills Development is designed to strengthen the capacity of individuals and organizations to successfully access funding and compete for development projects. The program responds to a growing need in Liberia for practical skills in proposal development, project design, and bidding processes. By equipping participants with these competencies, Smart Readers Liberia aims to empower local actors to design impactful projects and secure resources that support sustainable community development..
The program is delivered through structured, interactive training sessions that combine theory with hands-on practice. Participants are guided through the full grant and bidding cycle, including identifying funding opportunities, understanding calls for proposals and tenders, conducting needs assessments, and developing strong project concepts. Emphasis is placed on writing clear objectives, designing realistic activities, preparing accurate budgets, and meeting donor and procurement requirements. Real-life examples, group work, and guided writing exercises ensure that participants gain practical experience rather than only theoretical knowledge.
By the end of the training, participants are expected to produce a draft grant proposal or project bid and demonstrate improved confidence in responding to funding opportunities. The program also promotes ethical standards, accountability, and effective monitoring and reporting practices to ensure long-term project success. Through this initiative, Smart Readers Liberia contributes to building a skilled workforce capable of mobilizing resources, implementing quality projects, and driving positive social and economic change across Liberia.
