At Smart Readers Liberia, Inc., we believe that every learner deserves the opportunity to read, write, learn, and succeed. Education is more than the ability to read words or pass examinations. It is the foundation for confidence, independence, opportunity, and lifelong success.
Smart Readers Liberia, Inc. was founded on February 9, 2021, with a simple but powerful belief that every learner can succeed when given the right support, guidance, and opportunity. What began as a commitment to improving literacy has grown into a broader mission to promote inclusive education and lifelong learning.
On June 23, 2023, we officially launched our organization at Versenia Mission School in Johnsonville, Liberia. This milestone marked an important step in our journey to support struggling readers, strengthen literacy instruction, and expand educational opportunities for learners in our communities.
Since our founding, we have remained committed to helping learners overcome literacy challenges and develop the knowledge and skills they need to build a better future. We understand that every learner is different. Some need extra time to learn to read. Others need support with writing, digital skills, or academic development. We are committed to creating inclusive learning opportunities that recognize these differences and help every learner reach their potential.
Our work goes beyond the classroom. Through literacy development, teacher training, digital education, environmental awareness, financial literacy, and practical skills development, we seek to empower individuals and strengthen communities across Liberia.
However, we cannot achieve this mission alone. We need the support of parents, teachers, school administrators, volunteers, donors, development partners, and everyone who believes in the power of education. Together, we can create more opportunities for struggling readers, support teachers, and build a future where no learner is left behind.
